Description of the project

The old town hall of Woerden was in poor condition. The renovation by Architectenbureau Cepezed B.V. was focused on modernization and energy efficiency, resulting in a light, spacious building with an A+++ energy rating. Openness, spatial experience and connection are core themes of the project. Large glass sections in the new facades provide a strong connection with nature and the surroundings.

Guardian SunGuard® eXtra Selective (SNX) 60 was chosen for the glazed façade. This triple silver coated solar control glass offers color consistency and low internal reflections. SNX 60 has a highly desirable, neutral and transparent appearance – regardless of the viewing angle. Internal colored reflection is optimized, adding a neutral tone to the glass when viewed from the inside of the building. Due to its world-class selectivity, SNX 60 lets in 60% of natural daylight combined with excellent solar control. This helps to reduce energy needs due to a lower demand for artificial lighting and air conditioning
