The 75,000 square metres façade features a curtain wall that is double glazed to allow for a high solar protection on neutral-looking glass.
The new-build façades are predominately brick-faced, with punched windows to reflect the surrounding context.

thecamp is the first European campus dedicated to emerging technology and social innovation, reuniting an ecosystem of creatives: designers, digital artists, mixed-media artists, programmers, entrepreneurs, graduates, international researchers, company directors, senior managers on training courses, young people and children – who all stay for a few days or months.
Situated on the edge of Aix-en-Provence and Marseille, the 33,500 square metres of futuristic buildings are designed by architect Corinne Vezzoni. thecamp is a space where innovative expeditions are planned to survey, assess and invent the future in a collaborative way.
thecamp comprises of 150 accommodation units, restaurant and bar, amphitheatre, workrooms, experimental spaces and a natural swimming pool.
The glass chosen for thecamp’s iconic curved glass incubators is Guardian SunGuard® eXtra Selective (SNX 60/28), a triple-silver coated glass that provides the ideal ratio between light transmission and solar factor, with outstanding thermal performance. Natural daylight is maximised whilst reflecting the optimum amount of solar heat away from the glass, helping to keep the occupants comfortable at all times.
The curved glass for the lounge and amphitheatre is Guardian SunGuard SuperNeutral™ (SN 70/37), a beautiful, neutral, transparent coated glass with low reflection, consistent colour, high solar protection and high light transmission.
