The 75,000 square metres façade features a curtain wall that is double glazed to allow for a high solar protection on neutral-looking glass.

Fruit and Wool Exchange

The new-build façades are predominately brick-faced, with punched windows to reflect the surrounding context.

Caudwell International

Curved glass, punch windows and precast stone panels make up the envelope on a figure-of-eight footprint.

Designed by NSW Arkitektur, the Orkla City Project is the Orkla headquarters building located in Oslo.

With several innovative energy measures installed, the building has an A-grade energy rating and qualifies for BREEAM-NOR Excellent certification. The main architectural challenge was to strike the perfect balance between the façade’s insulation and thermal permeability.

Two glass types were chosen for the glazed façades: Guardian SunGuard® SuperNeutral® (SN) 62/34 coated solar control glass, which minimizes the need for artificial light, offers excellent sun protection, and outstanding thermal insulation. Guardian ClimaGuard® Premium2 laminated acoustic and thermal insulation glass was also chosen. For the cafeteria area, eyrise® instant solar shading windows were installed. This solution adapts its shade to the change of sunlight to help prevent overheating, as well as bothersome glare.
