Guardian Glass is committed to the efficient use of natural resources while operating in a way that protects the safety, health and well-being of its employees, customers, the environment and society.
As a manufacturing leader of high performance, energy-efficient glass products for commercial, residential, interior, transportation, solar and specialty applications, Guardian Glass makes products that help improve people’s lives. By allowing abundant natural light into homes, offices and vehicles, glass products can help contribute to occupants’ well-being.
An Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) is a verified and registered document that communicates transparent information about the life-cycle environmental impact of a product.
Guardian EPDs are developed specific to the region where the glass is manufactured. By publishing EPDs, Guardian supports architects and designers who strive to understand the environmental impact of the buildings they design through the products they specify. The goal is to provide them with the information needed to calculate their buildings whole life carbon (WLC) emissions and achieve credits in global building rating systems, such as LEED® and BREEAM®.
Four EPDs are available from Guardian Glass Asia Pacific. For certifications and declarations for Guardian Glass products manufactured in North America, Europe, Latin America and AMEI (Africa, Middle East, India) regions, please refer to that region’s webpage.
The Guardian Flat Glass Products EPD is valid for all flat unprocessed glass products produced in Thailand. The products covered by this EPD include unprocessed clear glass and tinted glass: Guardian™ Clear, Guardian™ Light Green, and Guardian™ Solar Management Glass.
The Guardian Processed Glass Products EPDs are valid for laminated and wet-coated glass products produced in Thailand. The product ranges covered by these EPDs are Guardian LamiGlass™ and Guardian UltraMirror™.
The Guardian Automotive Glass Products EPD is developed in accordance with the Automotive Product Category Rules (PCRs), and follows a cradle-to-gate with Options study (A1-A4, C1-C4), incorporating both transportation from Thailand to Australia and New Zealand (A4) and end-of-life considerations (C1-C4). The products covered by this EPD are Guardian Clear, Guardian Light Green, and Guardian Solar Management Glass.
