Oakland University – South Foundation Hall

The Oakland University South Foundation Hall renovation transforms the oldest and most utilized building on campus into a modern, 21st-century learning environment. Designed to address increased enrollment and a shortage of classroom space, the updated structure features extensive glass façades constructed with 10mm Guardian CrystalGray glass paired with 10mm SunGuard SNX 62/27 HT coating on the third surface within the insulated glass unit. This custom glass makeup helps enhance the building’s thermal performance, provide natural light and create a sleek, transparent exterior that showcases student activity. Complemented by light gray metal panels and projecting overhangs, the glass design establishes a welcoming and contemporary identity for the campus while blending with the building’s mid-century roots.
