Mayo Mankato Bed Tower

The Mayo Clinic Mankato Bed Tower adds 121 beds in a three-floor vertical expansion, creating a new flexible ICU, a family birth center and other critical care spaces. The exterior design incorporates SunGuard SNR 50 coating on clear glass, offering a thoughtful balance of strong solar performance, high outdoor reflectivity and illuminating light transmission. A structured grid of glass panels complements the warm brick façade, enhancing the building’s scale and sophistication. The neutral silver reflectivity of the glass captures the vibrancy of the surrounding landscape on the curved façade. Meanwhile, the expanse of glass floods interior spaces with natural light – creating a bright, welcoming and energy-efficient environment for patients and visitors. This modern design aligns with Mayo Clinic’s “Bold. Forward. 2030.” strategic plan, bringing innovative healthcare closer to the Mankato community.
