The judges selected the following projects to be honored as this year’s Guardian Glass Commercial Project Award Winners.
Designed with employee wellness top of mind, this state office building achieves ample daylighting with SunGuard® SNX 51/23 and SNR 43 on clear glass. Contrasting blue and neutral colors offer transparency and powerful energy performance. The building boasts of LEED® Platinum and net-zero energy status.
Light plays a vital role in healthcare spaces – and this innovative, healing environment is bathed in it. The glass is prominently featured as floor-to-ceiling windows use SunGuard® SN 68 on clear glass to provide that light, as well as unobstructed views and subtle reflectivity for privacy.
This new high school was designed to flex with changing times as it serves students in STEM, art, business and humanities. SunGuard® SNX 62/27 and SunGuard® SN 54 on clear glass elevate its versatility with natural light plus great energy savings. The open feel of the glassy entryway is echoed by large interior windows and views of a courtyard greenspace – for an airy effect that opens eyes to possibilities.
Nestled into its surrounding landscape with an interesting origami-like structure, this facility represents sustainability in action. SunGuard® SNX 62/27 on clear glass saved the day when the original specified glass failed to meet energy requirements. It harmonizes with metal elements on the dramatic façade and fills the interior with light. Due to the building’s proximity to a local bird sanctuary, a white frit pattern on the glass was selected to deter bird collisions.
Laminated units of SunGuard® SNX 62/27 on UltraClear® glass feature a gradient white frit that support the building’s efficiency while flooding it with natural light. In concert with a statement glass staircase, warm interior wood feature wall and striking limestone exterior, the glass curtainwall brings texture and visual interest.
People of all ages come here to be transported. State of the art projection systems create a vivid, immersive experience in this otherworldly dome. Guardian Extraclear® float glass achieves true, uniform color to express exacting hues.
