  •  … suits its location, looking like a wave of water. The blue/silver colors along with the curved façade evoke a feeling of tranquility. I love the dimensions of the building that were enhanced through the use of glass and louvers. It's a striking blend of modernist and modern-day.
  • This project is a great example of the use of glass in combining form, aesthetics and energy performance. The neutral reflectivity of the selected low-E coating highlights the sleek curvature and opaque metal areas, and the addition of the IS 20 4th surface low-E coating highlights their commitment to added energy performance.

Southern U.S.

  • Fabricator: Oldcastle BuildingEnvelope® – Wright City

Judge Comments

  • The scale of glass is impressive, in appreciation of the jurisdiction requirements… a picture of how design team collaboration can bring the best out in project.
  • In addition to the use of glazing to provide expansive daylight and views balanced with subtle reflectivity and solar control, this project adds interest (and fabrication complexity) with the trapezoidal lines.

  • Expansive use of glass provides light and views important to the multiple functions of this building, along with an interesting glass terrace.
  • The building's signature element, the gold ceiling, was enhanced by the glass and the uniqueness of its application.
