Split Airport, located in the center of the central Dalmatian region, is one of the busiest tourist destinations in Europe. In 2019, the airport underwent a major reconstruction and expansion, adding a new canopy across the entire width of the facade and enhancing the energy efficiency and aesthetics of the building. The project team, consisting of VV Projekt as architect and KFK as cladder, chose SunGuard® SuperNeutral® (SN) 70/35 glass as one of the the main design elements of the project. This glass product offers a neutral blue reflection, high light transmission, and excellent solar protection, helping to create a peaceful and comfortable environment for the passengers and staff. The glass also contrasts beautifully with the playful structural membrane of the canopy, forming a new and recognizable visual identity for the Split Airport. SunGuard® SN 70/35 glass is a good solution for fully glazed facades and large frame windows, as it helps to reduce the need for artificial lighting and cooling, while providing stunning views of the surroundings. AERODROM SPLIT is a standout project that showcases the versatility and elegance of glass design.
