Winner of the 2017 Building of the Year in Bulgaria in the residential buildings category, the A3 Advanced Architecture Apartments building in the capital of Bulgaria has an exciting, dynamic shape and form that fits harmoniously into the surrounding environment. The design of A3 contains strict elegance combined with soft organic forms.
Designed by Svetoslav Stanislavov of STARH, the 100 metre-tall building is divided into five blocks (entrances) that are linked in a common ensemble that defines the building’s final shape. The feeling of elegance and sophistication is emphasised by the stunning glass façade. Due to a combination of high solar protection and good thermal insulation on a neutral-looking glass, Guardian SunGuard® SN 70/37 coated glass was selected for the façade.
With a low g value of 37% and a light transmission of 70%, SN 70/37 provides excellent solar control with an exceptional light transmission and a low U value (thermal insulation) of 1.0, to provide excellent control over the temperature inside and ensuring that sufficient natural light is allowed to reach virtually all areas of the building.
