Lower carbon, versatile performance

Guardian Nexa 6 has a reduced embodied carbon of more than 40% [1] (reduced embodied carbon footprint 6.38kgs [2] CO2eq./sqm for 4mm glass vs average EU float glass dataset of 30% when compared to standard 4mm Guardian ExtraClear™ float glass). This equates to an embodied carbon value of 6.38 kg CO2e/m2.* It can be laminated and/or used as a base glass for all Guardian Glass products, such as the SunGuard,® Bird1st™ Lami or ClimaGuard® range of products – to add features such as energy efficiency, bird deterrence, or sound reduction when laminated.

*When comparing A1-A3 GWP (Global Warming Potential) value of Nexa6 vs Sphera Database 2021 Dataset for EU-28 Float flat glass (valid as of June 2024), reduction calculated is -42%. When comparing A1-A3 GWP (Global Warming Potential) value of Nexa9 vs Sphera Database 2021 Dataset for EU-28 Float flat glass (valid as of June 2024), reduction calculated is -22%. A1-A3 embodied carbon value derived from the LCAs and pending verification for conformance to ISO 14040/44, ISO 21930, and the Product Category Rules (PCR) through a program operator and independent reviewer. The value is subject to change based on the critical review process.
