SRG Global and FALTEC joint venture facility goes on line

Warren, Mich., Sept. 27, 2013SRG Global, Inc. President and CEO Kevin Baird and FALTEC Co. Ltd. President Kazuhiko Toida have announced the grand opening of their joint venture manufacturing facility in Gateway City Industrial Estate in Thailand, approximately 80 miles east of Bangkok. The facility is the first brick-and-mortar project of a global strategic alliance made between the two companies. A ceremony to celebrate the event took place at the site on Sept. 5 with customers, government representatives and company officials in attendance.

The manufacturing operation, called FALTEC SRG Global (Thailand) Co. LTD., provides injection molding, chrome plating, painting, and assembly in the production of radiator grilles, body side moldings, rear garnish, and roof rails. The project, which had been targeted for completion in the third quarter of this year, came in on schedule.

“The opening of this facility marks a significant milestone for the alliance,” said Baird. “But more than that, with the on-time completion of this facility, it is a clear message to our customers that we will do what is necessary to provide the resources needed to ensure production and delivery of world-class products in a timely manner.”

The plant employs approximately 50 team members, a number that could increase to 160 at full capacity. Customers include Nissan, Ford Motor Co., Honda, Isuzu, and Mitsubishi, among others.

In 2011, SRG Global, one of the leading providers of high value coatings on plastics for the automotive, commercial trucking and household appliance industries, and FALTEC, a global manufacturer and supplier of automotive parts and accessories, formed the alliance to better serve global customers. The alliance will effectively shorten product development cycles, harness the global design and development capabilities of the two companies and accelerate development in areas of technology and manufacturing efficiencies.
