Guardian Demonstrates Glass Innovation and Design

At Hospitality Design Expo

Auburn Hills, Mich., May 15, 2012 – Hospitality executives and design professionals engaged in creating and selecting new looks for the hospitality industry that are both high performance and cost efficient will find what they are looking for at the Guardian InGlass booths at the 2012 Hospitality Design Expo & Conference May 15-17 in Las Vegas.

Attendees will experience all the possibilities of glass through Guardian InGlass, Guardian Industries’ product portfolio of advanced interior glass. Through performance, color and texture, Guardian InGlass products support the creation of beautiful, functional hospitality designs.

Visitors to Booth 6121 and the Innovation Pavilion (Booth 6554) at the HD Expo can participate in a hands-on demonstration of the unparalleled scratch-resistant properties of Guardian DiamondGuard. This coating extends the life of glass, keeping it looking newer longer by withstanding everyday scuffs and scrapes. Whether it is part of a dramatic installation in the lobby, or in practical yet distinctive applications such as restaurant tables or doors, DiamondGuard is proven to be 10 times more scratch resistant than ordinary glass.

Guardian DiamondGuard is one of the advanced products featured at The Innovation Pavilion, a new addition to the HD Expo. Select exhibitors will present the best new designs in hospitality, giving attendees insight into the science and technology behind the designs, and encouraging engagement and feedback. Guardian will feature two different-colored DiamondGuard countertops, side-by-side with ordinary glass, and invite visitors to try to literally make their mark in a scratch test.

The industry-leading performance attributes continue at Booth 6121, where the glass manufacturer will feature additional Guardian InGlass products particularly well-suited for the hospitality industry, in two different hospitality settings. Note these bathroom applications:

· Guardian ShowerGuard features a patented process that permanently seals the surface. In independent laboratory testing, ShowerGuard was repeatedly exposed to hard water with dissolved silicates. While other products developed permanent stains, ShowerGuard retained its cleanability.

· Mirrors take a beating from the most simple ammonia cleaners, which eat away at the reflective surface, causing black edges. Humidity and other environmental conditions will degrade appearance and performance over time. Guardian DiamondGuard UltraMirror stands up to these challenges and is backed with a 10-year limited warranty – twice as long as the industry standard.

· Guardian DecoCristal expands options for cabinet doors or wall coverings, just two of many surfaces that bloom under color or printing applications. Painting one side of the glass produces a brightly opaque, aesthetically stunning glass available in many colors.

· Guardian DiamondGuard here on Ebony glass creates statement-making countertops that will maintain their appearance.

Guardian InGlass also offers beautiful applications for a living room or lounge setting, or any high-impact design area:

· Guardian Berman Glass editions show how easily you can achieve a beautiful, custom glass appearance. Inspired from the kiln-cast line of Joel Berman Glass Studios, this partnership with Guardian InGlass offers a quick ship / “ready to wear” program to fit any design with elegance.

· The versatility and resilience of Guardian DiamondGuard high endurance glass.

The high performance of Guardian’s DiamondGuard, ShowerGuard and UltraMirror means facility managers can minimize costly replacements. The products don’t require coating replenishment and can be cleaned with a wide range of common industry products. These products can also help a project achieve LEED for Interiors certification.

These products and more are part of the Guardian InGlass portfolio of interior product solutions for design professionals, facility managers and purchasers. The industry-leading website -- www.guardianinglass.com -- makes it easy to browse application ideas, evaluate options, select products, consult experts, and purchase glass. It also connects users with fabricators, glaziers and others to assist them to make their design concepts a reality. For more information, visit Booth 6121 or guardianinglass.com.
