SRG Global breaks ground on Mexican production facility

Newest facility to serve customers in Mexico and North America

Warren, Mich., February 21, 2011 – SRG Global Inc. (www.srgglobal.com) one of the world’s leading providers of advanced, high value coatings on plastics for the automotive industry and other non-automotive applications, announced today that it has broken ground on its newest facility in Irapuato, Mexico (east of Guadalajara, northwest of Mexico City, in the State of Guanjuato). Completion is expected in the first quarter of 2012, according to Kevin Baird, SRG Global president and CEO, who made the announcement.

The facility will have complete part production capability, including plastic injection molding, top coat, chrome-plating and assembly. The initial phase of the project, estimated at $25 million to $35 million, has been approved based on fulfillment of all incentives and agreements with local authorities. The facility will serve a variety of OEM automotive and non-automotive customers.

The Irapuato location will expand SRG Global’s capability to serve its North American customer base, with a focus on customers with operations in Mexico, according to Baird. SRG Global already operates seven facilities in the United States.

“SRG Global has a goal of balanced, global growth,” said Baird.“ Our new facility will allow us to accommodate demand from our customers in Mexico and throughout North America as the economic turnaround gains momentum.”

SRG Global chose Irapuato for its proactive business climate, its centralized location, and its proximity to SRG Global’s customer base in Mexico. Another important factor is the skilled workforce available in Irapuato. SRG expects that the plant will employ 220 direct employees, with the potential of an additional 220 indirect employees.

Construction of the Mexico facility is part of SRG Global’s overall business strategy, designed to provide technological advances and ensure consistent quality in every region served, while maintaining local and regional production capabilities. The facility is one of a number of operations that have recently come on line, including SRG Global’s Advanced Development Center in Taylor, Mich., opened in 2010, and a production facility in Boleslawiec, Poland, opened in 2009.
