Our products are covered by various declarations and cerifications, so you can plan your projects with clarity and certainty.
Our products, across European, the Americas, and Africa Middle East & India regions carry Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs), so you can plan your projects with clarity and certainty. EPDs for products manufactured in Asia Pacific are expected to be available early 2025.
We offer Health Product Declarations (HPDs), covering three global product categories - including uncoated, sputter (vacuum) coated, and Guardian UltraMirror™ glass products.
We provide voluntary Safety Data Sheets (SDS) covering four global product categories, including uncoated, sputter (vacuum) coated, laminated, and Guardian UltraMirror™ products. This valuable information supports the safe use and handling of our glass products and provides declarations pertaining to the compliance of our glass products to various global chemical control laws.
Float, coated and laminated glass products manufactured in Europe are Cradle to Cradle Certified®, Bronze level V3.1 overall, but achieving the more stringent requirements of V4.0 for some categories.
Six new Environmental Product Declarations have been published for Europe in September 2024. The scope of the EPDs considers CO2 emissions generated from raw materials extraction and processing (A1), transportation of these materials to our sites (A2) and our production processes (A3), increasing the level of transparency provided to customers. Some of these are worth highlighting:
It means a reduced embodied carbon of more than 40% and 20%, respectively, when compared to the average European float glass dataset(1).
Guardian Europe has published three Fiches de Déclaration Environnementale et Sanitaire (FDES) – also referred to as Environmental and Health Declaration Sheets – on the INIES French Database, covering our European manufacturing of Float Glass, Coated Glass and Laminated Glass.
(1) When comparing A1-A3 GWP (Global Warming Potential) value of Guardian NEXA™ 6 vs SpheraDatabase 2021 Dataset for EU-28 Float flat glass (valid as of June 2024), reduction calculated is -42%. When comparing A1-A3 GWP (Global Warming Potential) value of NEXA™ 9 vs Sphera Database 2021 Dataset for EU-28 Float flat glass (valid as of June 2024), reduction calculated is -22%.
(2) European comparison based on publicly available EPDs from main float glass manufacturers manufacturing in Europe. Valid as of 19 September 2024

Four Environmental product Declarations are available from Guardian Glass North America: for unprocessed flat glass, for sputter-coated, wet-coated and heat-treated glass products.
The North America unprocessed flat glass Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) has been renewed in March 2024. It has a cradle-to-gate (A1-A3) embodied carbon value of approximately 1,102 kg CO2e/ton (TRACI 2.1 Method)*.
This new value is approx.:
~23% lower than NGA’s 2019 EPD value of 1430 kg CO2e / ton.
~24% lower than Guardian’s 2018 EPD value of 1455 CO2e / ton.
The new value will help customers meet the top 20% limit in the U.S. General Service Administration’s 'Low Embodied Carbon Material Standard'.
