Description of the project

Designed by Architekt Prof. Dipl.-Ing. Ernst Hoffmann Ziviltechniker GmbH, the Floreasca Sky Tower is situated at the heart of the business district in the North of Bucharest. The design of the building helps to provide an abundance of natural daylight in workspaces and a panoramic view of the city.

The glazed façade has an oblong structure over four floors with transparent, translucent, and opaque areas. In the uppermost floors, the façade opens up and becomes entirely transparent.

Three glass products from Guardian Glass were chosen for the glazed façade. Guardian SunGuard™ SuperNeutral (SN) 40/23 and Guardian SunGuard™ SuperNeutral (SN) 51/28 coated solar control glass products provide high natural light transmission, while helping to save energy through solar protection and thermal insulation, as well as providing enhanced comfort to occupants. The products have a neutral transmitted and reflected color. Guardian SunGuard SN 51/28 has been upgraded and replaced by Guardian SunGuard™ SN 51, a double silver coated solar control glass with reduced internal reflection and color shift. The glass has a slightly more neutral appearance than its predecessor.

Guardian SunGuard™ High Performance (HP) Bright Green 40/29 coated solar control glass has a bright green appearance and good thermal insulation performance. HP Bright Green 40/29 helps minimize solar energy gain while allowing maximum visible light transmission.
