Our presence across regions helps to provide global glass solutions at a localized level.
In 2024, we started using CombiAPP-EU – CombiTour, an Artificial Intelligence (AI) system that combines orders from all European plants to optimize our transportation routes and minimize the distances traveled by empty trucks (known as “empty kilometers”). Since its launch, the app, which evolved from a concept used over 10 years ago with manual work, has reduced our “empty kilometers” in Europe by approximately 1,500,000 kms over 9 months.
More open-glass shipments, less wood packaging:
By increasing open glass shipments in coordination with customers, the GulfGuard and RAK plants have reduced wood packaging material usage, and associated waste generated by the packaging materials by about 30%.
The sites were able to reduce wood packaging imports and the associated cradle-to-gate carbon emissions (e.g., minimized wood processed and then transported to Guardian RAK for use as packaging), reduce waste generated by the wood packaging materials, improve the ease and safety in handling, packaging, and unpacking time, and increase flexibility for the labor force of Guardian and our customers.
Your search has taken you to Guardian's regional site. Products and services tend to differ from region to region (this may suit your needs if you are looking for glass in another area of the world). However, your local Guardian business is identified as being Guardian's regional site, if this is incorrect you can change your regional website settings here.
