Description of the project

Faria Lima 3500 is a 25,000 square-meter office building in Sao Paulo, Brazil, and is the headquarters of Itau Bank. The building has an inverted prismatic shape that resembles a cut diamond.

The building’s impressive, fully glazed façade was achieved using Guardian SunGuard™ High Performance (HP) AG43 double silver coated solar control glass. SunGuard HP AG43 provides a combination of aesthetic and performance qualities. The glass allows plenty of natural daylight into the building but helps minimize solar energy gain. This reduces glare from direct sunlight but provides excellent solar heat reflection, helping to keep the building cool and to reduce demands on air conditioning. The appearance of the glass is one of uniform reflection and color.

The construction has a LEED Core & Shell Gold level certification, as well as LEED EB O&M Platinum level, and LEED for Commercial Interior Gold level.
