The Tahakom Co Building in Al Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, is a striking example of how glass can enhance the beauty and performance of a modern office building. The exterior facade was completed with Guardian SunGuard® DS Aquamarine T, a high-performance glass that offers a unique blue-green aesthetic that complements the sky and the cityscape. The glass also provides great solar control qualities, helping to reduce heat gain and energy consumption of the building.
The Guardian team worked closely with EMAR AL MODON, the main contractor, and Al Hamoud Office engineering, the facade consultant, to secure the project and deliver the best solution for the client. The building is now owned by Tahakom Co, a Saudi Technology and Security Comprehensive Control Company, that provides innovative and reliable services in various sectors, such as transportation, health, education, and security.
Guardian SunGuard® DS Aquamarine T is a double silver coated glass that combines a bright bold colour with good thermal properties. It has a light transmission of 32%, a solar factor of 21.5, and a U-value of 1.6 W/m2K, making it ideal for regions with hot and sunny climates. The glass also has a low light reflection of 11%, helping to enhance the visual comfort and transparency of the façade*.
*These values are based on a glass combination of 6-12 (air space)-6 mm
