Description of the project

Designed by Binst Architects, the DPG Media Headquarters is an architectural icon in Antwerp. The office building provides a public ground floor with a mezzanine that contains a brasserie-restaurant, coffee shops and various multimedia configurations. The architects wanted a very transparent, neutral and low reflection glazed façade, particularly for the ground floor, which ‘opens’ to the square outside, with a solar factor of around 40%.

The option selected was Guardian SunGuard® SuperNeutral (SN) 75 Ultra on low-iron base glass. The corners of the building are curved using the heat treatable (HT) version of SN 75 Ultra which offers a matching appearance with the flat glazing. For those areas of the façade with white silkscreen, where the frit already provides some solar protection, Guardian ClimaGuard 1.0+ low-Emissivity glass was used on the internal pane of the double glazing.
