Project description

Built in 1975, the Lyon Part-Dieu is one of Europe’s biggest shopping centers. The building has been completely redesigned and makes smart use of glass to meet the needs of transparency, permeability, and energy efficiency, while better integrating into its urban surroundings. Moreover, the building is to obtain BREEAM certification.

Among Guardian products, Guardian SunGuard® SuperNeutral ™(SN) 63 was chosen for the façade because of its neutral grey tone, excellent solar control, light transmission properties and very low reflection. Guardian SunGuard® eXtraSelective (SNX) 60 was used for the 3,200 sqm glass roof, where 1/3 of the total area is glazed with huge glass panels measuring 3.2x3.2 m. Both Guardian SunGuard products help meeting the requirements in terms of solar control and thermal insulation
