Guardian Glass's solar control glass will be used to clad the largest development on the northern coast of Santa Catarina.

OPORTO

The G31 glass from the new SunGuard Solar Plus series will be one of the highlights of the Oporto development in Porto Belo, featuring a solar factor of 33% and a unique composition with the incorporation of titanium.

The northern coast of Santa Catarina has gained a new architectural landmark with the launch of the Oporto development, the largest in the region, announced earlier this year in Porto Belo. The project by MayBelly Incorporadora includes ten towers, each with 30 floors, and will be clad with SunGuard Solar Plus G31 glass from Guardian Glass. Additionally, the sales center building, equipped with rooms for real estate agents and industry professionals, has been inaugurated and is also clad with the company's glass.

The laminated glass offers a solar factor (the percentage of solar radiation heat that passes through the glass) of 33%, meaning it can block 67% of the heat, helping to prevent temperature increases inside the building. It also features a gray aesthetic without a mirrored effect. This solution aims to meet the demand for high-performance products with low reflection.

‘’This glass, in which MayBelly made a distinctive investment compared to standard clear glass, enhances the overall value of the development. It allows residents to enjoy and experience the outdoor scenery more fully from inside their homes, with less noise, greater energy efficiency, and improved quality of life and comfort.‘’

Growing Trend in the Use of Solar-Blocking Glass

‘’These glasses are specifically designed to control the amount of heat and sunlight entering the building's interior, contributing to indoor comfort and the energy efficiency of the development.‘’

Unique Composition

Additionally, the product has a unique composition. The incorporation of titanium results in better performance, making it an ideal choice for projects looking to combine energy efficiency—by reducing the energy consumption of devices like air conditioners—with aesthetic quality. The G31 glass is further distinguished by eliminating the need for edge deletion—a process of removing the metallic coating around the perimeter of glass pieces to prevent corrosion—thus potentially speeding up the glass processing.

Regarding the entry of natural light into spaces, SunGuard Solar Plus G31 has a light transmittance rate of 31%.

‘’Despite blocking part of the heat, the product allows for adequate natural light entry throughout the year, providing visual comfort and making indoor spaces more pleasant and welcoming.‘’

OPorto

Announced by MayBelly Incorporadora, Oporto will be built in Balneário Perequê, Porto Belo (SC), one of the most sought-after neighborhoods in the region. With a total of 243,000 m² of constructed area, it will cover two blocks, equivalent to 44 plots, and will feature 10 towers, each with 30 floors, totaling 864 apartments, all with three suites.

In addition to the residential units, the project also includes 18,000 m² of commercial space, comprising 44 commercial units and a shopping center focused on gastronomy, as well as 12,390 m² of leisure spaces such as an integration boulevard, amphitheater, contemplation walkways, playground, among others.

Before the construction of the buildings begins, MayBelly gifted the city with a new space for leisure, tourism, gastronomy, and business. Attractions at the site include a stage for performances, a Food Park, a gym, a playground, a pet area, a chimarródromo (space for drinking mate), a reflecting pool, a dry fountain, an Instagrammable sign, a solarium, a helipad, and parking. The area also features rooms for real estate agents and other industry professionals.

‘’We have been developing this project for three years to bring together the most advanced and sophisticated features in a single development. Oporto aims to further consolidate the real estate market in the region, offering those who want to live or invest a condominium with complete infrastructure to provide the best quality of life. Additionally, it serves as a new leisure and tourism option for the city.‘’
