Auburn Hills, Michigan (May 7, 2001) -- Guardian Industries Corp. is pleased to announce that 55 students have been awarded Guardian Educational Scholarships for the 2001-2002 academic year by the Guardian Industries Educational Foundation.

Established by Guardian President and CEO William Davidson in 1986, the Guardian Scholarship Program assists the children of employees in their pursuit of higher education. Since its inception, the Program has awarded nearly $2 million in scholarships to more than 350 students.

Selection of winners is based on high school or college academic records, extracurricular activities, leadership qualities and the SAT or ACT scores of the applicant, and is conducted by the College Scholarship Service, an independent educational service organization retained by the Guardian Industries Educational Foundation.
